hey everyone! hope whoever went to japshow had a good time. I didnt go in the end after having had a bit of car trouble the other day with a seized caliper and after seeing the weather report and with it being really bad in manchester anyway I decided I'd give it a miss. Bit gutted as I havent been able to make it to any shows this year but hopefully next year

Yeh John they stopped all racing and the only thing that was going on was a bit of drifting now and again,

The only funny thing that happend was watching them try and get the cars off the grassed area's as most were just sinking deeper and deeper and when they were trying to drive out they just sank and gave up  was glad i'd parked on the hard stuff :D

yeh the grass bit gets like a mud bog doesnt it, if you book a stand for the whole weekend, they put you on the grass, if you book one for sunday only, its on concrete, thats why we always just book the one day :winky:

To be honest i went up at 1PM on the Sunday to see the following;

No traders (unless you want chavy stickers)

No owners clubs (not even Lexus!!)

No track usage

plenty of food traders

some people displaying drifting, not a patch on the show at silverstone earlier this year.

So I hung around for an hour and left, nothing to see.

Looks like Jap car owners ain't water proof :whistling:

Could have been a good show but was a complete waste of time and money.

So all I have to show for it is a filthy car :tsktsk:

See you all at the next show so long as it is sunny :winky:

to be fair

most owners club had arrived early, after hours in cold and rain, you cant blame them for leaving

likewise for traders, if they have had poor sales they might as well pack up and call it an early day

drag racing needs a dry track, it is dangerous if wet or even damp, santa pod organisers will always take a safe course of action even if it does dissapoint many people

drifting is about control, when wet they have no control hence poor display

if we could guarentee sunshine then we could guarentee great shows, sadly this is the UK !!

I was still parked on the lexus stand at 2.15PM on the Sunday in my LEX, only saw another one after Wozza had gone and that was an ls400 parked with another club?

Saved my ticket though so at least i can still use it towards another event :)

I was there from about 8.15 am till 12.30pm in the bucketting rain... sorry I missed you.

I saw a Platinum ICE IS200 coming towards Santa Pod on my way out, but the lane was narrow so couldn't turn round.

Was that you by any chance Yeldarb ? I did flash my lights :D
