Hi, I am a 'new member' but my late partner was a member from the time he bought this beauty. I have a LS400 (1993) and I am looking for a replacement Power Steering Pump. I cannot really afford Dealer prices and am not experienced enough to trawl through breakers etc. (Plus, as we all know, women are not really welcomed!!!) Can anyone recommend a trustworthy and reliable source for this part that I can order on-line. Thanks

Search for 'benfur' on here. Highly recommended. He breaks LS 400's for a living.

Thanks, I have done that but he hasn't been able to help. We have previously bought good replacement parts from a Japanese parts importer but I no longer have the email address.

Can anybody else recommend somewhere PLEASE?

Hi

Go on eBay usa and look under lexus ls400 you will get numerous power steering pumps coming up from a variety of sources they are reasonably priced and even after shipping are cheaper than uk prices.

Second that loads on eBay usa.

Rock auto also do them. try euro car parts I'm always amazed at what they can get hold of but you may have to ring them as not everything is listed online.

Hi Wendy,

I assume someone will be fitting this for you?

Another option is to fit a replacement seal kit if the pump is just leaking, these are £24.62 + vat but there will be more labour involved but still considerably cheaper than a new pump ;)

If you are looking to source a second hand unit you may not know that Lexus now only list one pump to cover MK1 through to MK3 models.

Hope this helps,

Andy

Thank you to everyone for replying with suggestions, I now have a replacement PAS pump on order and my tame mechanic will be fitting it on Tuesday. Funnily enough, since the pump finally failed, the dreadful screeching noise has gone! Just a tad difficult manoeuvring in small spaces!!

Thank again to the Lexus Owners Club members - I will be back!
