  1. Past hour
  2. I have to say I don't think the interior looks "cheap". However as I have said before I am not impressed with the seats which in my opinion should be leather at this price point like most of the competitors.
  3. Today
  4. 95 Ls400 not in heaven yet …….. piccy as I parked up yesterday she still flies along dreamily 👏 Malc
  5. Are there any independent mechanics in Ceredigion who are knowledgeable and can work on the RX450h Have recently moved to the area and need a "Lexus" Garage
  6. I've read that the car link one is useless for our cars ,,I bought a cheap (£49)one off amazon or ebay and it works fine
  7. Yesterday
  8. Looks interesting, I've heard of them before to be honest but these really expensive dash cams are not for me, maybe if I one day own a Lambo or a Rolls I'll be interested but for now, under £100 (or £150 if I got attached to the car and got a nice bonus at work) dash cams for my pieces of **** is more than enough. If OP has the means, I'd say go with blackvue over chinese.
  9. I had my 2015 RCF serviced with Lexus recently, they told me if I get the car serviced next year before its 10th birthday It will still get the relax warranty through to 2026
  10. 177 registered in uk +18 SORNed as of last year…..
  11. There are now nearly-new RZ on sale for under £40k. Bargain. If you qualify for something like a NHS discount, you can also get £10k+ off brand new. The list price is ridiculous, but anyone paying list price now is also being silly.
  12. This is one reason why BlackVue appealed to me - it’s made in South Korea! The company started up in 2007 and pioneered much of the current dashcam technology. The brand quickly became well established in North America long before it came into Europe. This page from the Home site might be of interest…. https://blackvue.com/about-us/
  13. I have got to say I was quite impressed when I drove the RZ last year. Agree that lack of a rear wiper is a big minus but overall the car felt well constructed and drove well. The range or lack of it was the biggest drawback for me but this has been addressed recently via a software update and the soon to be released revised models. All EVs are suffering huge depreciation and the only safe way to own one at present is through a pcp type deal.
  14. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but your review is the first I have seen reporting the interior to be cheap. Plenty of other criticisms but the reviews say the interior is very good. Unfortunately the depreciation is wild on all EV’s at the moment - everyone that has bought rather than on a PCP will either have to keep the car for a very long time or take a massive hit. Even Porsche Taycans are suffering severe depreciation so little hope for others.
  15. Hopefully not a Scottish person 🙄 Lexus drivers are normally well behaved 😀
  16. Not sure if you've made your mind up but I use 2 70mai cameras on 2 different cars. I use the 70mai A500s on my BMW and the 70mai A810 on my Insignia both with rear cameras but only the BMW is wired to keep the camera on while the car is off (you can configure the wires as such). There's only 2 cables coming from the main front camera, the power and the wire going to the rear camera. The box on the wire that manages voltage and shut off when the battery is low (to avoid draining the battery) is very small and it's relatively easy to install. The A500s isaround £89 with wiring kit and rear camera and the A810 (4k) with all of the kit for £155 Both have GPS and speed display and they're decent for the price. They're on AliExpress, you can find them on UK sites but why pay the inflated price when you can buy directly from the source. Most products nowadays are from china anyway. A500s > https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32931282121.html A810 > https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005784770916.html Also, if you don't like dash cams with screens and you want something more premium, a lot of people online seem to recommend the VIOFO A139 > https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002038738438.html
  17. This is their standard offering: https://toughleads.co.uk/collections/ev-electric-vehicle-extension-leads/products/5m-ev-type-2-granny-charger-13a-uk-plug An advanced model is also available, which I think adds a timer function. My earlier comment doesn't work for the need you describe.
  18. Out of the box majority of them will come with a 12v male socket to plug & play. The hardwire kit is required for parking mode where you will need to tap into the fuse box for a constant power supply it doesn't matter which dashcam you opt for as long as it has a power management feature where it will cut the power when your 12v battery drops below a certain parameter. That link you shared is a decent price enquire with the seller if which cable they supply just for confirmation.
  19. Yeah I think you are right, maybe that's why the power magic pro is not really on sale in much places now. Thank you, I am thinking of Thinkware F200PRO, it seems it has the built in battery protection too? What are your thoughts on this? Yh I think they do. I can't see myself having to pay another £70 for the PMP on top of the dashcam, if I have to might go with the Thinkware one. Also do we need to get the hardwire kit? I came across this from ebay and it seems like they come with the hardwire kit?
  20. Hi. Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you wish. Regards, Dan.
  21. I’ve gone to their site but am not clear what lead you are suggesting, I just need a second lead so I can leave one at home and the other in the boot
  22. LenT has a have a very good point the older Blackvue dashcam had no power management features to detect voltage drop hence why it was regulated by the Power magic pro (anicient looking device) it looks like they have since progressed developed power management software within the dashcam. You no longer need the Blackvue power magic pro kit just a simple 12v cable hardwired to the Fuse box as it will still need to be powered when the ignition is off. You can find it on Amazon for the X Series decent price in comparison to the powermagic pro. https://www.amazon.co.uk/BlackVue-Hardwire-Cable-X-Series/dp/B0CW21SDSV/ref=asc_df_B0CW21SDSV/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=691938792676&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5221880813021227624&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9046656&hvtargid=pla-2306779403507&psc=1&mcid=81d2d9bc0d553f6797bfece84289fbee&th=1&psc=1&gad_source=1
  23. SK number plate = first registered in Edinburgh...
  24. Glad you got it sorted 🙂 Personally I found the HUD and touch sensitive buttons second nature after about 30 minutes driving the car… all very straightforward in my opinion!
  25. Thinkware F770 but it’s an old model now. But still getting speed cam updates. Can’t recommend any newer ones as I’ve not tried them. I worry lots of new models come with unnecessary features like cloud storage and probably some AI nonsense. I helped a friend fit a budget Garmin dash cam recently. He had the hardwire kit that cost £20 and as part of that kit, it included a voltage protection setting on the hardwire kit control box. No extras and only £20 for the whole hardwire. Spending serious money on battery protection seems unnecessary in 2024, and comes across as exploitative to me. Manufacturers charging top dollar for extras that aren’t complicated at all!
