Engine Immobiliser Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi, can anyone throw some light on why the immobiliser on my 1999 LS400 is preventing me from starting the engine. I've tried all the usual methods, but it still wont go out. I bought the car after it had stood for a few weeks, but I doubt that has caused this problem? or maybe it has. Any help would be most welcome, Regards, Nivram

Hi, many thanks for your reply. Leaving the ignition on for 10 minutes. Then turning it off, then trying to start, but the light still won't go out. Then when that didn't work, reduced to swearing at it.

Hi ambermarine, thanks, I will give this a try this afternoon and get back to you.

hi

if you have more than key - try the other one incase this one is not communicating with the immobilisor properly

think I read somewhere that metal objects in the centre glove box affects the immobilser sometimes....don't know why

Also make sure the car Battery is fully charged.
