2016 Lexus Rx Photos And Video

Recommended Posts

Drove over to Lexus Hedge End today as they had the new 2016 Lexus RX in the showroom for one day only. Got to have a nice long poke around the car and took some photos and a video for you all to see :)

I was very impressed with the car. The looks have definitely grown on me and it will be interesting to see how the car looks when the front grille is broken up by the UK number plate. Cabin quality seemed very good and the car definitely appears more spacious inside than the old one, though it does have a (slightly) longer wheelbase.

It is a lovely car, although the full Noble Brown interior would suit it better instead of the two tone interior. I've driven the 2016 RX 450h and it is very refined. One complaint would be the seats. No side bolster adjustments. It's only 10 way adjustment. But on the whole a superb vehicle.

Nice pics but that interior looks horrid! Two different shades of brown that don't necessarily go well together. Should have just stuck with black and tan.

However the cream seats with brown dashboard look great on the Lexus Europe configurator. Personally I'd still be going for red.

When/where did you get the chance to drive it?

Yes I must say I'm a big fan of the dark rose colour seats they seem to be offering on a lot of the models these days. Looks especially good with a white car :)

Drove it in Austria last Saturday.

Nice how did you manage that?

I just realised how much I hate the front end on the Luxury and Premier versions and also how much I like those wheels - Ah well, F-Sport for me.

I had a sneaky suspicion that you might go for an F-Sport ;)

I placed a deposit in April/May after it was shown at NY motorshow, and they offered to send me there for a test drive. Quite a few Brits were there. A lot of Russians/Eastern Europeans slso. Lexus is quite popular in Eastern Europe apparently.

Lexus have taken a hell of a lot of orders for the RX in the US according to the PR lady. She is based in the US and is off to South Africa/Australia next for their respective launches.

It's very quiet and incredibly refined. A big step up from the NX and the current RX as well. The videos of the interior don't do it justice. Great place to be and the nav/entertainment screen is brilliant. Not too sure about the joystick thingy as I quite like the trackpad in my NX.

A lot is being said about the predator grill, but I quite like it. Overall a great car.

Thanks for sharing these pics...

Looks stunning although I also have reservations about the interior colour scheme... too many colours...

I see that the footbrake/parking brake has finally been replaced with a push button affair. At last.

I see also that Lexus has adopted the current trend of having a satnav/entertainment screen stuck on the dashboard as opposed to fully integrated. I wonder why that is... is it to make replacements easier?

I think it is a shame that the RX200t is called... 200t... makes it sound puny for such a large car!

Makes decent power though, probably faster than an NX300h looking at Lexus Europe figures! :P That torque figure is pretty interesting 350NM FTW. My previous RX300 only had like 280NM or something and that felt quite nippy tbf.

The reason for the screen on the dash is that you can have the dash lower down and it gives a greater sense of space. With the current RX the dash is mahoosive to say the least!

Sooo, for the next year, I have to get myself a 2016 RX F-Sport (im going ex-demo this time, can't deal with losing £30k in 3 years ownership), only problem will be the spec, I want White/Red + ML + Panoramic sunroof + HUD which is probably going to be quite difficult to find unless I convince my dealer to order their demo in that particular spec!

I will also have to buy a Qi adapter as my HTC one M7 (emotional attachment to this phone) is not Qi compatible lol

Im not even going to drive it CBA - ill just buy it over the internet if I can find a good one in the right spec.

The 450h Premier and F sport are brilliant. On that there is no doubt (imo).

There is definitely a discount to be had. I don't care how the dealership does the numbers, as long as the cost to change is favourable. One of the dealerships that I contacted have said that, as long as you confirm a firm order they can choose the month that they put through the order. So it looks good for them and I save a chunk . At the mo Im looking at a 6% saving as I want the style/pro pack , pan roof and rear entertainment prep. So £ 3600 off with just a couple of emails. There is more to come I'm sure of that.

Yup, screw the 200t, I want a 450h F-Sport lol.

£3600 is great already! Im assuming you're going for the Premier?

Yes, I love the 360 deg view camera and it won't be available on the f-sport. Imo the F Sport will be the biggest seller and not the Luxury. It's very composed and the seats are great. Don't like the wheels though.

I'm going for Mica Blue with brown interior. The floating roof looks awkward in White. Thats just my opinion. Others will love it I'm sure.

Wow Mica Blue!? Sure you're up for that? I've had a Black RX and let me tell you it's a PITA shows scratches and it's super soft paint too.

I don't really fancy the 360 degree camera so no issue there. I like the F Sport styling including the wheels and oddly enough I prefer the floating roof in lighter colours! I might throw a curveball in and get red with red :/

Only issue I can see is that my wife's IS300H F Sport is white with red leather and it may end up looking like a fleet lol

Yeah I know re upkeep of dark colours. Mica was stunning in the sun! I know it's a brave choice but Blue is my favourite colour . I'll have to get it fully detailed and keep it garaged at all times. At the mo I just keep the NX on the driveway and put it in the garage on rainy/cold days.
