Wifi In-car Hotspot

Can anyone please give me any info/advice regarding in-car wifi hotspot from a Lexus dealer,as I'm considering having one fitted so if someone has one already or have any info about them (pros/cons) I'd be most grateful,many thanks.

Hi Raymond and welcome to the LOC, we are a
friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and
put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer
left over.

We recommend you spend a couple of mins
looking over the rules of the LOC, we will be asking questions later

In my GS I have Lexus WiFi Hotspot, and it works fine: the connection procedure is easy and it's studied to receive signal better than using a direct connection on cell phone, having a diversity antenna connected. It can connect 5 wi-fi devices at the same time, and of course it needs a SIM with a valid registration. About various settings it works like a home modem router, entering setup trought a cell phone or a laptop with usual 192.168.1.1 address. It can receive updates from Lexus (probably to adapt to newer protocols, 4G/LTE?).

I don't know if you have already purchased a Lexus in car wifi system yet, but I purchased my own from O2 and it works fine in my car allowing four others to use it. 5GB £14/mth.
