Hi guys,

i am new to the group but I am having some major issues with my Lexus is200, it's a 52 plate for those wanting to know.

so basically my car won't work it starts Perfectly, but I will go from the start.

At the beginning the traction control Light started flashing, it seems to loose power when driving until I switch it off and on but recently it is pretty much constant rather than intermittent, so I tried the coil packs by pulling them out one by one and they were all working then I changed throttle body then that fixed it for about 30 miles then the fault came back then the garage cleared all the faults and that fixed it for about 20 miles then I replaced the TRC unit and that made it absolutely spot on for about 60 miles then the fault started to slowly creep back buy making the ride slightly jerky then when I went to go out again it was the worst its ever been literally no power.

Can anyone help I am starting to pull my hair out a bit here.

Thanks kindly

Ritchie

Sounds pretty bad mate. As the fault keeps coming back it's obviously something else and probably serious enough to generate an error code so see what the new codes are and look into them.

Hi Ritchie and welcome to the LOC, we are a friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer left over.

I cant help with your present queries but I'm sure someone will be along ASAP.

We recommend you spend a couple of mins looking over the rules of the LOC, we will be asking questions later

hi guys and thanks for the response, i have been to a garage and they cleared the codes, then went back they advised me to change the TRC Unit and see if that helps, which it did for a few miles then when back to normal, all i can think of next is to do the fuel system check injectors and fuel pump :(

It's no good just clearing the fault codes as if the problem is still present they will only come back.

What are the codes? Post them up and then we can take a look for you and advise, changing parts without a proper investigation is the most expensive way to fix a car.
