When i purchased the LS over 2 years ago now,i checked it over and decided to leave replacing the front discs as not great but passed mot etc until the pads had worn out so last week a warning light appeared on the dash, and the fluid level is correct,so pulled the front wheels and yes the pads are very low now, rears replaced 18 months ago.so we will see how the blueprint discs/mintex pads combo works after they have been delivered and probably fitted at the weekend

Paul, I have the same combination Blueprint discs/ Mintex pads on my Mk4. I'm very pleased with the results. They need a bit of time to 'bed in', say 500miles. The stopping power they generate is superb and they wear well too.

My experience of Mintex pads, fitted along with new discs a couple of years ago.

Very noisy at first, to the point where I considered changing them straight away, the noise being loudest at low speed, as you come to a stop.

Fortunately, they improved when bedded in, over a couple of weeks, not 100%, but, for me, acceptable.

The stopping power is fine though.

If I replace pads again, Firestone or Toyota will be my choice.

Paul,

How much did you pay for pads and discs, as I am thinking of going down same road.  Not happy with the Blueprint pads I have had on for last 3 years.
