Tyre Size

Recommended Posts

I'm changing the fronts this weekend on mine to Michelin Pilot Sport 2 on the standard 225/40/19 rubber after considering the wider options, so it would be great to get some feedback from you if you go down the larger route.

Just been to cosco and ordered a set 245/35/19 + 275/30/19

Total inc fitting £734

Should arrive next week.

On a side note, do i have to inform my insurance company about going for a wider tyre?

Good stuff, I kerbed the sodding NSF wheel again on the weekend and I think both my habit of parking too close to a kerb and the skinny tyres are the problem. Never had this issue with any other car I have owned. Will be giving my local Costco a call in a month or two for a price and will aim to get them fitted by whoever I use to refurb the wheels.

Just got them fitted. So far so good.

Tyre fitter called me first to make sure i knew i ordered a different tyre size from standard and he did seem a bit puzzled but when i picked the car up he said they fitted really nice and are a better fit than the standard size.

Will keep You posted on the progress but so far the car just feels that extra bit better. Could be the tyre size or the pss tyres or both..

Good stuff. Looking forward to hearing how you get on. Maybe it's just me but the Eagle F1s on the back on my car are hopeless. Had a play with a 4 series x drive of some description last night and was decimated off the lights as I just couldn't put the power down.

Could of just been slippery so his 4wd would have better traction.

True, I've had a few moments though where the tyres haven't given as much grip as I'd expect from them. The PSS seem to be the best all around choice.

On a side note it might have been a 435d xdrive, pretty impressive stats!

When buying Michelin tyres, always check for their fuel card offers (I got £75 after replacing 4 tyres)

Costco have deals every so often where you get vouchers to use in store. 4 tyres should get you £100 worth of Costco vouchers.
