Parking sensors without sat nav screen?

I'm wondering how do you know which sensor is beeping if you don't have the satnav screen? In my previous car the screen displayed which corner of the car was near to the obstacle, but I wonder how you can see that in a CT without the sat nav screen.

The short answer is ... you don't.  You really shouldn't be relying on sensors to help you avoid hitting obstacles.  The CT isn't a huge Merc or SUV where you don't have all round visablilty so you should be able to deduce from the parking space and the orientation of your car to determine which side is near an obstacle when the beeping starts.

I will admit that ever since getting parking sensors with my previous car (no screen, just a beep) I have gotten very lazy and more dependent on them when parking.  I even had them fitted to my CT as they were not standard (again no screen, just audio).    But I've never hit a car whilst parking (not intentionally ... )

I have parking sensors and no screen. When i reverse i get a little outline of a car which shows bars indicating how close i am to the garage door, in addition to the beeps intensifying. IIRC, this only works when reversing, not when parking forwards. The front sensors aren't too great in that respect.

Under normal circumstances I agree. But sometimes when in reverse and turning I've come across situations where I had obstacles in oposite corners of the car, and in those situations is when the screen comes handy.

Parking sensors is one of those things that put me on my nerves when I first had them, but I can't live without them now.

Thanks for the info!

So front sensors work only in reverse?

No, the rear sensors work when backing up to something, as they should. They front are pants.

In a situation like that, you'd see the bars on both sides of the little diagram of the car.
