Yes, I might look at getting a new set of nuts all round, just to have them look 'clean'. It's a little annoying that 8 years and this is the state of them. At least the first gen had caps that went over them.

 i had some silver wheel paint and gave my nuts a quick paint they look great now

Shiny nuts make all the difference.
