Battery life

I’m debating about buying my first Es 300h, but the cost of the Battery replacement is making me pause. Has anyone had to replace the Battery in their 300h?

I doubt it very much as they have only been in production for three and half years. Also if serviced by Lexus they have a 10 year warranty.

As far as I am aware if you keep the vehicle with dealer servicing Battery warranty is 15 years or 150k miles which is above the 'Relax' standard warranty of 100k miles and 10 years. Look to the Prius situation Battery units are often repaired for a few hundred pounds by specialists depending on the fault. Does the ES also not use the old school Nickel style Battery in which the individual cells can be repaired easily?

Even if you have the car serviced elsewhere you can still have the Hybrid Health Check done as a stand-alone thing at Lexus for £59 and as long as it passes, they warrant it for 12 months.

Even if you don't have the HHC done and it starts to give problems, you can replace individual cells rather than having to buy the whole thing.

I would think you would have to be very unlucky if the hybrid Battery pack failed and as stated 15 years for a Battery is some peace of mind.
