2010. IS 220d clutch start.

Recommended Posts

How far should you have to depress clutch pedal to obtain ‘green light’ to start engine on a IS 220d?
I have to push pedal to the floor and then squeeze another 1/4 inch. Is there an easy adjustment?

New member here, any help appreciated. Thanks

Welcome Peter.

You do have to press the pedal quite far to get it to light up green, and in my case, basically all the way.

It sounds like something might be stopping the pedal from moving all the way easily, so all I can suggest at the moment is to see if you can have a look under there and perhaps check to see if the pedal is moving freely.

There is an adjustment for pedal height and free play, but I don't think either of those would help with the clutch switch.

You can check the switch to make sure it is working properly if you remove it:

However, I suspect this would be more to do with if the light didn't turn green at all no matter how hard you press.

Let us know how you get on.
