Sat Nav ID and question.

Hi folks, first post from a new owner. My CT200h has the round dial and push to select audio/sat nav system but the manual I have is for the small square movable mouse type system with 10 inch screen. My question is, with my system, is it possible to enter destinations using the speak button on the steering wheel like I can to make phone calls? Thanks.

Do you have talk switch on the steering wheel?

If so try the following:

1 Press the talk switch.

2 Say “Enter an address” or select “Enter

an address”.

􀁺The searchable countries are restricted

according to the voice recognition language.

􀁺Some areas cannot be recognized by the

voice recognition system.

􀁘For UK English and French

3 Say “<house number>”, “<street name>”

and “<city name>” in succession.

􀁘Except for UK English and French

3 Say “<street name>”, “<house number>”

and “<city name>” in succession.

􀁺Say the desired house number in the place

of the “<>”. It is possible to only say the numbers.

For example, 1,2,3,4 etc. (It is not possible

to say multi-digit numbers) Inputting

the house number can be skipped.

􀁺Say the desired full street name that

belongs to the set country in the place of

the “<>”. If only the city name was said at

step 3, say the street name. If the street

name is not unique, select the appropriate

number from the displayed address list

4 Say or select “Enter”.

􀁺A map corresponding to the decided

address is displayed. To set the displayed

point as a destination, say “Enter”.

􀁺 If multiple points exist, the next point can be

displayed by saying “Next”.

Mine does work but I find it easier just to enter via the mouse.

Ninety-nine percent of the time, voice recognition is absolutely abysmal so save all the frustration and pulling your hair out and just either enter with joystick/mouse thingy or, better still, use Waze on your phone.

Last time I tried with the Lexus system it was to make a call.

Me: "Dial 01772 765432"
Lexus: "Dialing 834. If this is not correct....yada yada"
Me: Call "01772 765432"
Lexus: "Calling 47297. If this is incorrect....."
Me: "AAARRRGGGHHH!!!"

I then installed a Grom Vline 2 and have lived in serene bliss ever since.

Using Waze for navigation:

Me: "M33 4AB"
Waze: "M33 4AB. Ok, got it. Let's go."

And that's it. Done, dusted, and on the road in no more than one minute.

Agree the voice recognition is rubbish. I have a 2019 CT200h with the big sat nav screen. I find it really complicated and certainly can't be used when driving.

Lexus hardware is great.

Lexus software - not at all.

Maybe manuals and explanations have been translated from Japanese to Chinese and Korean before translated on to English so nobody understand anything.
