How do I actually get the TPMS to reset?

You need Lexus or tech stream software 

also needs to be genuine part 

 

I’ve got issues at the moment

For reset there should be button under the dash, but what you mean is not "reset", but what is needed for new sensor to be "programmed". And John already explained what is needed for that.
