Fluid discharge from underneath chassis

Recommended Posts

I noticed today that after driving my new NX 450+h there is fluid discharge from underneath the chassis.   The discharge (which I think is water) comes from a recess located underneath the front passenger footwell.     I drove the car to the dealer and showed them the issue.    They told me that it is just water that condenses around Air-Con system and expected behaviour.  There is a lot of fluid discharge, I have never seen this with any of my previous cars that had air-con.   Has any other NX owners seen the same symptoms?

Every air conditioned car I have been in leaves a trail of water, whilst every non air conditioned car I have been in doesn't.... except a Renault 19 which I had that kept overheating but that is a different storey.

I was surprised how much water my ES A/C makes compared to my previous non hybrids. I wonder if it's a characteristic of the all electric A/C system.

I noticed exactly the same with my NX450h+ last weekend. Checked that it was just water and where it was "leaking" from. Confirmed it was condensation from the air con system.

And not seing any puddles after using AC (long enough) can be a symptom of a clogged drain and that can causes troubles (wet carpets, mold...)
