Noise from rear end ISF

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

I have noticed when pulling off from stand still in my ISF when turning at the same time (e.g. out of the junction) there is a noise coming from the rear of the car.  It is hard to describe, but I would describe it is a faint spinning sound, only when starting off from stationary, and only for the first part of acceleration, then it goes away, and only seems to happen in this scenario.  The noise is not very loud or high pitch, almost a low level medium pitch sound, you have to listen to notice it - sorry that is a bit vague, but is the best way I can think to describe it.

I have been wondering if it is from the transmission or diff.

Does anyone else have this, or have any ideas about the possible cause?

Thanks

Does you car have an LSD fitted??

on car in the past where I’ve had a LSD, pulling out of a junction, or low speed manoeuvring the diff will grumble, and you could get some tyre scuffing.

I would agree with this one, though hard to diagnose from an armchair.

My RCF does it during tight turning when slow and its the wheel scrubbing.
