Lexus NX 450h+ high voltage battery fan filter

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have had my Lexus NX 450h+ for two weeks now and I am very pleased with it.

I watch a lot (and respect too) an Youtuber, The Car Care Nut, who is very knowledgeable and is particularly so when it comes to Toyota and Lexus. His No. 1 advice for hybrid maintenance is to keep the high voltage Battery fan filter clean to prolong the Battery life, thus one might never have to replace the latter.

I have been trying to identify where this filter might be on the Lexus but so far I have not had success.

Has anyone tried/found it?

I will very much appreciate your input.

Could you be referring to the DCDC Air Intake Vent which is located on the corner of the right hand side rear seat.  See owners manual page 617+

No one in the UK is doing anything more than cleaning the air intake vent with a vacuum cleaner occasionally, if that, and no one is suffering Battery pack failures.

The yearly hybrid health check that is performed in the UK will run the fans at maximum to ensure they are working correctly and probably blow out some dust.

Thank you very much! It should be this one. I have tried searching the Manual for Battery fan filter but go zero hits.

Just leave it well alone.

I dont think itd make any significant difference as long as you're not sticking cotton wool / chewing gums in the vents

Definitely the right one and the one Car Care Nut is referring to.
