Exhaust 2006 RX400h

My exhaust is blowing just behind the cat, but before the silencer box The system looks (and pretty sure it is) original to the car. Don't really want to replace the exhaust if it can be repaired - the system is a bit rusty but seems solid. You take it to good exhaust shop for their opinion on the best way forward.

If the silencer is OK and the cat is ok, an exhaust specialist would be able to make a new piece to join them together at reasonable cost. Alternatively  if the pipe is not too bad, a general welder may be able to patch it up.

Mine is doing exactly the same in the same spot, I've ordered one of these off eBay, I'll either cut in half and then clamp the 2 halves over the offending area, after filling it with gum gum.

From what I have measured the exhaust pipe appears to have an OD of 2.25" or approx 57mm. I'll find out when it arrives.

I used a 55mm flexy pipe in the end, angle ground off the old exhaust then put this in the middle. Had to reduce one side a little by cutting down the edges a little, so it squashed down. Repair complete and working fine.
