Japanese import speed limiter

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

So I’m thinking of importing an IS350. From what I’ve read, these have the Japanese speed limiter of 112 mph and a speed limiter on the cruise control.  Now this topic has been probably covered here but I’m clueless where to look. Is there any garage in UK that can remove these limiters from the car? If you could, please either point me to the right post on the forum; or state which garages could deal with the limiters for me?

Thanks in advance,

Matty

Cheers mate, do you know if this will diable the cruise control limiter too?

It will disable the speed limiter altogether. If you any questions, I'd contact Torque GT. They've been importing cars for a very long time, they know what they're talking about. They even provide a kph to mph conversion with odometer recalibration.

Cheers mate, I will contact them for more info.

Btw, why import one? You won't be able to get it much cheaper than buying one here. There's 3 for sale on the marketplace atm. One of them is for £5k in Grey.

Company fees, purchase fees + shipping will be at least £3000 + 10% duty, 20% vat and few other fees in UK.
Actually I think it is pointless to import any is350 to UK and as mentioned above much cheaper will be to buy here.

Unless it is some special edition, supercharged etc 🙂
