My 1993 SC300 has a speedometer needle that flickers on and off across its lenght. I was hoping that I could replace just the luminescent needle but the dealer says that I would need to replace the whole display. Ouch!! Has anyone had similar problems??

I have the same problem

The tip is to keep your display illumination down low so the needles do not burn out any more than they already have.

I have heard the whole unit has to be replaced which is costly.

Luckily my ODO needle still works but slightly flickers after a few hours when the illumination is up high!

I have seen some people's needles tottally gone and they have painted there needle white so they can see it.

I am having the same problem. Only not only is my speedometer needle out, so is my tach and both of the other two small needles are going out. Just got a quote from the dealer and the parts to replace it are over $650. Not including labor. Anyone have any other ideas?

HELP!

Yep, as steve noticed at JAE, my speedo needle is having a major time keeping light up. I'm going to workout a way of replacing just the needle with the manufactures. I as able to get hold of some manuals for the GS300 including all the part numbers etc....

When I have figured it out, I'll let you know
