Sat Nav And Dvd

Hi Guys,

For the first time I am posting a topic, which doesn't involve me having a fault with my car (touch wood).

Heres the thing, Iwant to put Sat Nav in my car, with a DVD player, but I want it to look like the Standard Lexus Sat Nav.....Can this be done.

As much as I like the Alpine type of Sat Nav with the screen that comes out of the Head unit, but it just doesn't look like it belongs.

I know this is asking a lot, just wondering if it can be done, and if anyone has done it.

If you can find all the parts required from the scrap yard then you can fit the OEM system but will take many hours to do.

It you wanted to buy the parts new then you are looking at £5000.

OUCH!!!!

But is it possible to use the Factory standard screen, but intergrate it with a Navigation system......Please someone let me know if I am speaking rubbish. It's just that It seems the ideal place to put it, is on top of the dash. But if it didn't fit right it could just end up looking tacky

If you do a search in the forums especially the electronics one, you'll see what other people have done for theirs. Also alot cheaper than 5grand. Think the motorised unit costs alot also. So might be better looking at other options anyway.

I'm still waiting to see what the best solution and cheapest is for mine anyway.... So if you find a good cost effective one, let me know ;)
