Hi,

I'm looking for help, a local dealer has a cracking GS300 in stock and is offering a damn fine deal to me!

Its an X reg SE with 95k as far as I know it has been serviced by a lexus main dealer all of its life and has only been chewing up motorway.

What should I look out for if I go back for a thorough viewing tomorrow?

All help appreciated,

Cheers

Ewan

check out our Buyers Guide to the Lexus GS300

lots of useful information in there matey ;)

test drive it extensively, at differing speeds.

make sure there is a full service history - what year is X?

Think the belts etc on those should be changed at 63k - so check it has been done.

If its not on the 9k service interval - then the 100k service will be expensive.

Tell us what your deal is - the words "car dealer" and "damned fine deal" are only rarely used in conjunction with each other :winky: :D

Essentially no-one was really willing to look at it until I was 21.

Managed to find tesco who would insure it under my dad's name for £1k however the issue would still stand that I am paying £770 for my Astra, which I would need to keep in order to build my no-claims bonus.

Ordinarily I wouldn't be too fussed about the £1k but when its in addition to what I am currently paying then I have to draw a line.
