Well, Ive gone and done it and bought myself an LS400....1994 in excellent condition, full LEXUS service history and only 78K on the clock.

I have to say, having driven vauxhalls previously, its somewhat more of a pleasurable driving experience in the LS400....dont think I'll ever be going back....

BUT

There appears to be a press button, just below the steering column on the left hand side in the drivers footwell - and I havent got a clue what it is for or what it does. I dont want to press it because I dont know what it does.

Its marked up as "WESTFALIA" and the button is marked as "PRESS". Theres 2 pieces of writing next to the button that look like German - One says "fehler".

Does anyone else have this in their car and could tell me what the hell its for ??

Its not a "normal" button - more like the type used for the keyboard on the ZX81 computers from years and years back....(showing my age there)

Thanks in advance

Do you have a cow powered car that needs milking often ??

or alternativly it might be some sort of horse breading system...

Alternativly, it is a VW camper van

So... in summary google appears to be no use on this one!...

"fehler" is "error" in German. Sounds like a user added bit of kit.. maybe it is some form of anti car jacking device, watch out for flames from the side of the car when you press it :)

I was told of a tow-bar that you can get fitted that not only is removable but retractable. It's alleged to be operated from a button on the dash, I have never decided whether to beleive this or not though, but do really fancy the idea of one!! I'm just concerned that I'd press it one day whilst towing and end up needing a new rear bumper.

Yes! Press when being 'tailgated' and zapp the guy behind! I want one!

As for the idea of flames shooting out...there's another post current about vandals! I highly like the idea of flaming car 'keyers' and mirror bashers! Ther MUST be money in this as after market kits! Fry the bastards!
