Replacement Windscreen

I had yet another stone chip on the windscreen this week - it's not quite in "line of sight" but it looks terrible (about 1,5cm and quite deep).

If I replace the screen, where am I best to go? Auto Windscreen etc or Lexus dealer? Either way it'll cost me £60 excess on the insurance.

More than likely that if you take it to a dealer they will get a windscreen company in. But you will probably get a free valet.

If you are doing it through insurance. Then they usually arrange who is doing it anyway.

Pilkington actually use the OEM patent for replacing the glass. BMW, Merc, Jag and even my front Windshield has been replaced with this brand.

An excellent windsheild and first choice with other prestige vechicle manufactures.

Thats what Lexus are likely to use.

OK, screen in. Can't move the car for an hour and can't wash it for 24 hours.

Replacement looks OK. He refitted my DART tag and LOC owners club stickers n tax disc.... heck he also put the white LEXUS sticker back on, but unfortunatly he missed the made in Japan sticker :(

Never mind.... not checked the wipers yet, but looks like a good job done.

It's Pilkington branded, car hasn't been moved since it was fitted yesterday afternoon. Dont think I will be out in it today either, so it will have had plenty of time to cure and hopefully be leak free!.

I'll prolly take it for a spin tomorrow and then give it a wash over as it is filthy from all the driving down cotswold country lanes and test track driving I have been upto this week :)
