Oh no - I am charged with keeping you lot under control??? I can hardly keep myself under control when it comes to cars! The Lexus will be only the 2nd car I have owned that is RWD too (last being a Mk2 Escort! Although I have thrashed a few others not belonging to me)

Anyway - www.honda-r.org.uk to see the club site. www.honda-r.org.uk/html/sammy.htm to see me and my babes ! Obviously I will be keeping this car as well as having the Lexus - both very different beasts and both lovely in different ways.

As for track days - I would not go on a 'open' track day - but if you want to really drive your car hard, the road isn't the place - get on an airfield where there is nothing to hit, and go on one with a company that like to promote safety first. We use Bookatrack (www.bookatrack.co.uk) and since we all know each other - everyone respects everybody else. Plus if anyone takes any chances and risks someone else's car - they get a strong few words from me...... if someone has to be black flagged, and they don't amend their behaviour - they are asked to leave and don't come again! Only way - you don't want to take chances with your pride and joy!!!

What are you after?

If a cheap airfield - Crail can be hired at £35 a driver (min of 10) or £40 each if you want to hire a certain instructor we have used there (if he is available)

Donington is very good - but not cheap (no 'real' track is)

Anglesea is apparently very good - not done it myself, but will do next year.

Binbrook is near Scunthorpe so is more accesable for those coming from the Ferry at Hull - but when I went to discuss a possible event - the track was a bit rough - needed a good sweep.

Not sure about one for a meet only though. I would suggest you drop a mail to some of the Leisure Parks, point out that we are not some Max Power Muppets intending to do donuts etc - and ask if we can use the bottom end of their parking area for a meet and of course we can then all go use the facilities - 10 pin bowling followed by Pizza sounds good to me!

Perhaps try the Meridian Leisure Park (directions can be found on my website under the 2nd December meet) - ensure the letter comes accross as professional and civilised - they had problems earlier this year with a Corsa meet doing sound offs and driving at speed in the car park!
