Cracked Key Casing

hi fellow, i wonder how many of you have this problem......

bought a brand new lexus IS200 2 years ago, noticed some hair line cracks on the casing on the key 8 months ago. The crack seems to be getting worse and am pretty sure it will one day split open if i dont do anything about it.

As the car is still under warranty... do you think i could get it replaced under warranty...?

I don't think the key is part of the warranty ?

worth asking. It would be covered under warranty but they could easily say it has been damaged rather than a manufacturing fault.

Apparently, this also happened to one of my friends who also drives an IS200. I have spoken to the Customer Service and was promised to investigate. (fingers crossed)

If you can't get another under warranty & fancy a bit of DIY ......

Get a new key from eBay etc then read this
