If You Want To Do Itb's See Inside

I was looking at what it would take to convert to ITB's on my altezza. At first i was going to see if i could get a set of pulsar ITB's to made up but that proved not cost effective.

Upon further research on the TRD ITB kit i noticed that they use the stock ITB's from the black top 20v 4age motor. The rest of the kit consisted of an adapter plate, velocity stacks, throttle pulley and new throttle cable mount.

You can get ahold of a set of used ITB's from a black top or silver top (silver tops are 42mm) for around US$250.

I have talked to a fabricator in the US that makes adapters to mate the same ITB's to the 16v 4age motor. I can get adapters to make these same throttle bodies to the altezza motor.

If i just get one it will cost me US$400, Two will cost $360 a pop. Basically the more he makes the less they each will be.

They would look very similar to this adapter (which is to adapt the ITB's tot he 16v 4age)

If anyone is interested in this pm me or hit me up on msn or aol.

The following bits you would need to run the ITB's

1) new throttle cable mount or TRD unit coupled with th TRD pulley (parts 4 & 5 in the pic below)

2) velocity stacks

3) custom intake plenum if you plan to use the stock MAF setup

4) standalone engine managment to convert to MAP if you wanted to run open throttle bodies

On the intake plenum, im sure that the stock 20v intake manifold can be modified to fit.

1) It may need notching to clear the master cylinder

2) stock intake entrance will need to be blocked and a new one made on the other end like the one in the pic below (that is a complete black top 20v 4age in an ae86 but the intake plenum configuration/modifications would be very similar)

All in all this isnt a "light weight" engine mod when it comes down to it. This is only for the serious. Converting to the ITB will inherit some idle stability problems because there are no provisions for an idle air control. Other than that and tuning the ecu with a piggy back (emanage) or standalone (power fc, f-con) there are no issues THAT I AM AWARE OF.

I will try to answer any questions anyone has about it.
