Oil Leak

I woke to find a puddle of oil under my car this morning :tsktsk:

It appears to be from the front part of the engine just behind the belts near to where the water pipe is

Sorry about the crap pics

Good job I have the lower engine cover off or wouldnt have seen it

Anyone any idea what it could be

dont know were it is coming from but it looks very clean ,have you just done an oil change

is it oil or fluid form the waterpump pipe

It does seem very clean and after cleaning the drive it doesnt seem as oily

Where does the A/C empty?

Not seen anything today though

aircon emptys onto the floor but that stuff on your engine looks like new oil

the aircon drain for the IS is on the RH side and under the FWD long plastic cover

:D that is no oil leak matey, it is the water bypass valve which is leaking.

it is a very cheap repair and does not take long to sort, if your car is under warranty then it is covered if not it is still not a big problem..

the reason why it looks clean is that the coolant is that colour..

hope it helps but me thinks i am 99% certain :D

is the lexus coolant not red?

yes it is red colour but it is too clean to be oil me thinks

defo not oil that as he states it wasn't that oily when wiped off the drive, but it does look sorta red when you look at the picky..

put money on it that it is the by-pass valve :winky:

I bougth extended warranty when I bought it so will look at the paperwork thats at work tomorrow

Is it just that bit of 90 degree angle pipe bolted onto the engine??

There was none yesterday then it came back again today

I have recenty bent my rad a little and its pushed it up at the bottom but not put a leak in it

Could this of somehow caused the leak?

Is the waterbypass valve the bit bolted to the engine

Is it just a bolt on bit?

Do I have to drain the coolant?
