Brake Judder

I seem to have a problem with my front passenger side disc as it keeps warping. I have now put 3 sets on all replaced by Kwik fit but they are now saying that there must be an underlying problem.

They have replaced them today but this is the last set they will do. Lexus are telling me its cheap discs and to go and spend £400 with them which to be honest is a load of crap.

The discs that are fitted are lockhed and im told they are good quality discs

Do you guys have any ideas what it could be ? :)

Number things you need to check out:

Have the discs and pads been bedding in properly? You should avoid hard braking for the first couple of hundred miles.

Have the wheel nuts been tightened in the correct order, this can causing the juddering that you are experiencing.

Are the brake calipers sezied? This can also cause juddering.

Have the new pads been fitted with anti squeel shims, this may cause the juddering?

I wouldn't believe what Lexus are telling you, re: you're getting brake juddering coz your not using genuine Lexus parts.

Hope this helps, and I'm sure someone else will be along to offer you some more advice.

The caliper stucks.....

i agree that seems the most probable cause whip your caliper off and see how easy it is to move the pistons and exercise them.

The underlying cause is probably the spanner monkeys at kwik fit using the pet gorilla to tighten up the nuts, work experience boy one side king kong on the other :D

whats anti squeel shims :offtopic:

Thin metal spring things, sometimes riveted to the pad, sometimes separate, sometimes a bit too stiff, causing the brakes to bind.
