On an IS200 when does does the VVTI kick in? or is it running all the time.

any websites or info would be great just want to learn a bit more about my baby :) .

If you can find any information on the VVTi set up then please let me know. We have had countless conversations with anyone that deals with the Toyota/Lexus engines and all have drew a blank.

Hopefully you will have better luck!

VVTL-i is more advanced than V-TEC

However you have to remember that Honda use lightweight, virtually hand build, engines. Toyota over engineer and then mass produce - the benefit to us is the engines can withstand a large amount of increased power and are very reliable :)

Yeah, but nobody could argue that Hondas don't make the most reliable cars in the world as recently voted. I do think Hondas are very understated but not quite you're Lex!! :D
