Is This Normal?

I have had my IS200 for a few weeks now, and I have noticed that if I put my foot down, it takes about half a second for the engine to respond at all. I have tried it with and without the aircon on, but it doesn't make any noticeable difference.

Is this normal, or is there something I should be talking to the dealer about?

Have you tried resetting the ECU? I thought it was an auto, but from your profile it looks like a manual... maybe the ecu reset will help?

Ummm.................eh? Senior moment, obviously. The what ?

Think he means that the manual throttle cable only controls the first 15% or so or the throttle take-up. The rest is done electronically.

They are all like this and yes it is very irritating.

I really don't see the point in this system as it is soooo slow!

I know exactly what you are on about Theguvnor. It is an annoying feature of the lexus, almost like turbo lag but no where near the boot you get after turbo lag subsides lol!!!

Especially after owning a cosworth!!
