Squeak....squeak

just wondered if anybody could advise......

over the past couple of days i've noticed a squeaky kinda sound coming from somewhere in the front passenger compartment. to me, it sounds like vinyl/rubber rubbing against vinyl/rubber, but just can't put my finger on where its coming from!!!

the sound occurs more when i go over bumps, or accelerate quicly, etc. it seems to be coming from around the dashboard/door area but can't locate it exactly (as am trying to drive at the same time).

its gettin more noticable now and really startin to drive me crazy!!

anybody had or heard of this before??

I'm pretty sure I've had this problem before. It hasn't happened during the Summer months, so I presume it is to do with the temperature outside expanding and contracting the plastic dashboard.

:whistling:

well whatever it is its really doing my head in!!!!

guess i'll just have to turn the stereo up a bit more  :D  :P  :D

You could try a process of elimination, and remove the dash. If it still squeeks, try removing the passenger seat..... :winky: :P :whistling:

yea, that's a wicked idea!!!!!!! :D :P :whistling:

mite not go down that route though!!!!!!!! :winky:

How difficult is it to remove the seats? Id like to give the car a really good going over inside.

not hard, four bolts and then just two plugs underneath for airbags and the electic functions i suppose. Don't scratch the center console though when removing it!

I had a squeak from the gearstick leather boot which i could not pin down until someone here told me to twist the boot slightly........maybe not the same as yours but worth a mention
