Alarm/c-locking Frequency Sync

Hi all

Does anybody know if there is a known problem with the alarm/central locking on the is200?

Twice in the last year I have had to have the frequency of my keys syncronised with the reciever on the car. It just stops 'zappping' and goes a bit odd. U then have to unlock manually with the key, set the alarm off etc.

Lexus told me that replacement reciever until was £395.00, but would not say if a known issue.

ideas?

i started the thread about the C/L - it is a known issue - here it is anyway.

It can be caused by a strong magnetic field - pylons, underground power cables etc - in my case a street lamp that had bit of a prob!

i was told that the computer will syncronise itself with the key after it had been in the ignition for about 20 mins? not sure how true this is????

:duh: HELLO. THE PROBLEM IS THAT SOMEONE HAS DECIDED THAT ALL RADIO KEY FOBS WILL OPERATE ON A FREQUENCY OF 433.920Mhz IN THE UHF BAND, THE UK ALLOCATION OF FREQUENCIES TO RADIO AMATEURS IN THIS COUNTRY IS 430 TO 440Mhz ON A SECONDARY BASIS, AND WITH A MAXIMUM POWER OUTPUT OF 400 WATTS ITS EASY TO SEE HOW YOUR KEY FOB, PUTTING OUT ABOUT 10 MILLIWATTS TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CAR CAN EASILY BE TEMPORARILY DISABLED, I KNOW CUZ IVE TRIED IT. THE PRIMARY USER OF THIS ALLOCATION IS H.M.GOVERNMENT'S M.O.D MOULD SYSTEM AND THEY ALSO USE CONSIERABLE POWER. IM NOT SUGESTING THAT AMATEURS ARE TOTALY TO BLAME AS THERE ARE A WHOLE GROUP OF OTHER USERS WHO OPERATE ON NEARBY FREQUENCIES, AND BECAUSE THE RECEIVER UNITS BUILT INTO CARS ARE SO ***** POORLY DESIGNED THE RECEIVER WILL BE OVERLOADED BY A STRONG ENOUGH SIGNAL MANY Mhz EITHER SIDE OF THE OPERATING FREQUENCY. THE WAY TO OVERCOME THIS PROBLEM IS TO HOLD YOUR keyfob AGAINST THE WINDSCREEN AND MOVE IT AROUND UNTILL THE CAR UNLOCKS (we now need someone to tell us where the antenna is) THE SIGNAL SHOULD BE SUFFICENT TO UNLOCK THE CAR. NOW HAV'NT WE LEARNT A LOT TODAY GIRLS. AMATEUR G7UHF.
