Help....2gb Sony Pro Duo

Bought Sony Memory Stick PRO Duo High Speed 2GB (Magic Gate). Works fine on my Sony Ericsson K750i and assume it will work on PSP but it won't work on for my Sony Vaio GR214MP laptop. It's asks me to format the disk but when I click 'yes' to format the disk, it won't let me format it :duh:

Why? Is the laptop too old for it, bearing in mind the stick is 2GB "High Speed" version!? Anything I can do to get around this? Install updated softwares? If so, where from?

Might sound like a stupid question ..... but it isn't on the locked tab is it ?

No it's not locked, well can't see it anywhere on the stick. Don't think it has that facility!?

Sounds to me that your laptop isn't pro compatible....check the laptop specs to see what it supports...

There are 3 types of Memory sticks

Magic gate Memory sticks

Duo memory sticks

Pro duo memory sticks

From what i know your phone supports the pro duo and duo sticks

I had the same problem with a 2Gb card on my PSP, said it couldn't format it. I just thought the card was faulty and sent it back when I got a new one and that worked ok.

Yeh it needs an adapter that goes into my laptop...it didn't come with it...already got one from my other sticks I use...
