Is200 Battery Indicator Is There A Problem

Afternoon all,

I took Ownership of my first Lexus IS200 yesturday and what a dream to drive ive been reading through the Manual and found that the Battery indicator should always show half way between 0-18V Mine seems to sit Constantly about 3quaters up on the dial? Is this serious and how can it be fixed?

the gauge sould read on 12 volts if not get it checked could be charging problem or faulty Battery, enjoy your car

While the engine is running and the battery is charging the voltmeter should show around 14v

Thanks for the info Battery indicator that puts my mind at rest,

ive also noticed that 1st and 2nd gaer changes (only occasionly) can be a bit clunky is this a sign that the gear box is on its way out or just needs some getting used to? im covered on warrenty for the 1st £1000 but knowing lexus a gearbox wont be far of that?

the clunk between 1st and 2nd is a design feature on some cars.

Don't worry about the "clunk" between 1st & 2nd either.........it's common on the IS200 manual. It's a design flaw and very doubtful if Lexus would act under warranty as they don't consider it as a problem.

LOL and your drivers side wiper will make a loud click when it gets to the top of the windscreen when your doing 65mph +

change the wipers to decent ones eg bosch and it wont make the clicking sound

[yeah cant believe it consumption way worse than what i expected but i guess thats the price you pay fro driving a nice car OH amd only just today i noticed the windscreen wiper problem BOSH it is had no problem as yet with brakes though
