Tyre Pressures

Guys,

another weekend planned with travelling on motorways in mind...

Well I checked the pressures on my SE today and have found that the fronts are 39PSI and the rears 44PSI. The car was cold (and it's in the garage).

The sticker on the B post states I could run 35/38 respectively where speeds are lower than 160 kph (i.e. 99mph) and I'm not planning on goinmg that fast :duh: .

I just wanted to know if anyone is running lower pressures than me etc, and what differences they have found by adjusting them (before I get my foot pump out).

I know the usual stuff - i.e. pressures can affect handling, tyre wear, MPG etc, but I also know that high pressure mean hard ride too...

I reduced the stated tyre pressures by 2lb on Bridgestons Potenza Slightly softer ride not sure if its worth it

I'm gonna reduce by 3psi, 35 front and 38 rear...

See what happens....

So I did reduce the pressure, and as Alan suggested the ride is softer, and enough for me leave it as is.

I went for 36front and 39rear, so it's just over the min as stated on the sticker!!

The ride has defo improved IMHO.
