Swirls And Scrapes

The previous owner obviously didn`t care when washing. The result is the paintwork is full of swirls and scrapes. I`ve just started using carplax and carnaube. Is there anything else i can use to get rid of these or will they go away using the above?

A porter cable polisher does wonders :)

If anything, swirl marks show that the previous owner has attempted to look after the car, but just no good at polishing. No idea on the scrapes mind!
