Doh. Talk about bad luck. :duh:

I was cleaning under the Bonnet of the Lex earlier on today. I decided to unscrew the Air flow sensor and clean the muck off from the underneath that had accumulated over the years. I took it off no problem along with the connector and placed it on the top of the strut out of the way. When I came to refit it, i decided to walk into the garage with it in one hand and a cup of tea in the other. The plan was to wipe it down with a clean cloth.

Whilst walking with both items, i had an urge to sneeze which i did no problem apart from sneezing twice in quick succession which made me drop the sensor and stand on it breaking the end of it.

So now im Lexless for a while which isn't really a problem cos it hasn't been out much for the last few months but now that I can't use it, I will probably need it.

Can anyone point me toward anyone breaking a MK1 GS? :crybaby:

Sorry randyreindeer, I can't be of any help to locate your spares, but I had to thank you for such a great post.

Tears of laughter are streaming down my face.:lol:

Thought it was just me that did that sort of thing. Been meaning to check & clean the MAF sensor on mine, but not so sure now. Best leave well alone (If it aint broke, don't fix it)

Hope you get sorted soon,

Have an "accident free" New Year,

regards,

Max.

:offtopic: But does anyone know how much it would cost for a new MAF sensor on a 99 IS200?

I thought about cleaning it out but might just be best for us less mechanicly minded to replace it if its not to expensive that is :D

I was to scared to enquire. :D

I must say though the car runs a lot better now but that will be down to the whole intake tract being cleaned out and the ECU reset. May get an oygen sensor next or even an oxygen sensor. :duh:
