Thanks its been very timly: this was what i did last weekend

I fitted sport bushes and of course lowered the car.

When i picked up the car it was a mess, this was the state of the engine when i picked it up

After a small clean this was the result:

This is the most recent as now al the plastic body parts have been replaced.

Hey fellas thanks for all your comments, its always good that people look at it and appreciate the hard work, our lass is pretty fed up with me talking none stop about it haha!!!

The seats were cleaned with jif to start off with but then i found that if i applied it directly then the jif would show as splash mark - if that makes sense so i ended up using a green pad. i was really careful about doing this and i dont want to recommend it really as I was really nervous about damaging the leather, so once id scrubbed it I applied 3 coated of leather wax !

Hi Alex – the poly bushes were ok to fit, my dad is a good mechanic in his spare time and he took one look at them and said they are going to be a pig to fit – but they weren’t that bad. I fitted the front springs and front bushes in a day. The hardest part of the job was getting the old bushes out! See the picture!!

One they were out I used a vice to squeeze them into position took me a minute!!! But you must use a vice mate!!

Thanks again mat

Hi mate

On this i only did the upper control arm bushes - just because there are so many other things that i need to buy or replace - the joys of buying a car which poeple didnt look after!

when the cars on the road i will replace the lower conrol arm bushes and i also want to replace the anti roll bar bushes as well as some point. I found the lower control arm bushes on eBay and they were 40 pounds which i what i paid for the upppers. looking at it i think the lowers seem a touch easier to do, but with out doing it im not sure.

Hope this helps mat
