Having rushed around in order to get my Lexus ready for the show...........finally arrived saturday 1pm ready for some fun. My first show, how cool...................

Having driven around the show ground , no signs etc showing where to go and asking people was a waste of time!!

eventually there it was , the Lexus stand..........where to go?????????

I will just pull in and see what happens..............nothing , absolutely nothing, zilch, nowt.

I know, I will ask the family in the Lexus next to me where it all is happening.........and the answer

DUNNO MATE, pulled in here an hour ago and no one has even said hello?????????????????????????????

I left the car and looked around and some very nice cars there were too, back to the car and see if anybody says hello..............NOPE.

So to conclude, maybe no body liked my car but we are all car enthusiasts and wouldnt it be boring if we all drove the same cars in the same state of modification. It is sad to say that I was stopped and complimented.......filmed and photoed by all but the club I am a member of.

So thats it for me, I shall not bother again. My first and last JAE as lexus club member !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well, considering this is your first post, no one knows who you are, what you look like or anything.....like a name, no previous post saying you would be attending....etc etc did you ask around, a few people came upto me having asked others who the club peeps were, as for the family sat in the car....maybe they didnt bother to ask anyone

as you say its a club, not a greet and meet, everyone has to make the effort to mix...maybe other members were walking around the show.......

its a shame your first JAE wasnt as expected, but we did have many new members who else made this JAE there first, but they had a great time.....

which car was you in....was it the LS with the wide arches, the one i saw when it was being driven away!...i walked around quite few cars on the plot who i didnt know who owned them, but as usual people turn up and abandon the car, making it impossible for the club plot to be layed out in a well organised manner.....this also helps make the initial contact.....

Sometimes you have to make a move yourself, say hello and introduce yourself. Feels daft at first, but start off with your forum name to break the ice.

This isn't a lecture on how to socialise, but the way I and many others introduced eachother at the show and other events too. I knew very very few people at the show before I went, but this didn't hinder me.

Sorry to hear your experience wasn't as great as you hoped but we all start as a fresher - hell, I was too ;)

All the best,

Jamie

That's the car I thought it was when I first started reading this thread ................ you drove into the plot .... then drove out ... how about "hi i'm so and so" ??

Shame you felt that way, but without sounding rude, you brought it on your self.

This JAE was my first. I took the time to read the forums before JAE, this preparation gave me:-

A Detailed Map of JAE 2007 I could print out as a guide to where everything (including LOC) was.

JAE2007Plan.jpg

A nice Car Poster for your window for you to fill out + then print .

(cant seem to attatch my word doc here)

This gave other members a chance to se who you are, and details of any performance modifications

or styling + ICE modifications that other Members may be interested in.

This was for display on your side or windscreen for all to see.

I even put a picture of me South Park Style like my signature in the Windscreen

with Lexus Owners Club, and my member name underneath , so anyone who didnt know

who I was, could see easily and the ice would be broken.

This was only my 3rd meet and 1st JAE , so there were more people there I didn't know,

than people I did, but I still managed to meet pretty much everyone from the LOC Forum

that was there whilst I was at JAE. (had to leave early for work commitments)

Please don't be put off, say hi to some other LOC members before a meet by sendng them a message,

and someone will take you under their wing and maybe drive in convoy to a meet, or know to look out

for you and your car so you won't feel isolated amongst new faces..

I do feel that we are all a friendly bunch who love the Lexus Brand and like nothing more

than to help out another Guy or Gal witha bit of knowlegeable advice. (spelling yeah but its 2.50 am)

I hope to see you at future LOC meets

Regards

DJ Wozza (or just Wozza to my friends)
