Thought it was a custom made TTE jobby

Cheer's for the update's btw :winky:

It still needs to see the correct signals though. The is200 and Supra have different systems so we have had to manufacture a crankshaft trigger assembly etc try to get conflicting systems working together.

We have managed to get the rev counter working properly at last and have resolved most of the dash warning light issues :whistling:

The next thing to resolve is the speedo operation and accuracy accuracy as the driver for the Supra transmission is different to the is200 (surprise surprise).

Mark i will call you tommorow.

TTE are getting the speed trigger another way when they fit the 180mph speedo.

this option is possibly better than you wasting extreamly valuble time trying to get a near as OEM SIGNAL from the gearbox.

if you wish to go with it tommorow i will call TTE and get them to Fax the info to you

Sounds like a mighty fine plan if it saves us some time and money :D

I have just been told that we have resolved the speedo issue now so it is reading and is accurate. Mat, if you get a chance I would like to see the TTE info anyway as it could be useful on a future project.

The next things to tackle are making a radiator expansion tank and washer bottle, wiring in the RL traction/launch control, tidying up the wiring loom, resolving the SRS and ecu light issues.

Today we have sorted out the the dash warning lights, all of the original meters and sensors, the EGT and oil temp meter, oil warning level indicator, rev counter, speedo etc and done some tidying under the bonnet.

Mat has rightly agreed to having an HKS oil cooler system fitted which we will start trying to shoehorn in tomorrow.

Here are a couple of pictures of the wiring and ecu's etc that we have been battling with. As you can see it is a bit of a mess and has been a mammoth task to get the engine running and resolve the conflicts that are inevitable when trying to get 3 ecu's working together. Although the engine was actually running months ago, the conflicts are now resolved as far as we know.

I will post another picture with the wiring tidied up later.

Nemesis Performance

These are the guys that I was referring to in the post about the new stainless steel manifold for the IS200. I believe they are still looking for a guinea pig for this, speak to Alan if you're interested. One of their directors has a supercharged IS200 - not sure if he's a club member tho.

The IS200 they are doing will be powered by a Tomei built race engine, based on the S14 from the 200 SX. I doubt it will develop as much power as Mat's 2JZ-GTE lump.

And like Mat said at least it's made by Toyota!

PS. Any news on the IS430???!!! :D  :P :ph34r:

Does anyone know if this project is finished or is close yet? Sounds like an interesting project and should be a lot easier to do than the monster.

It would be nice if the pair of them could get to JAE this year - that would cheer up the LOC stand somewhat :D

Yes, I was speaking to the guy from Nemesis that was doing the conversion. It was up and running but they S14 engine was too high and would have meant changing the bonnet when they wanted to keep the standard lines. They have therefore removed the S14 engine and are halfway through putting an RX7 engine in its place.

That's interesting Keiran, do you know which RX7 engine it is? Do you if it will be ready soon? I think maybe that project is taking as long as or longer than the monster, which is understandable if the first concept didn't work.

I saw their car at the Nemesis "Ranch" with the Datsun engine in place. Yes it was gonna need a new bonnet for clearance. Or one of those fake dragster style s/c scoops :D What are those diy words of wisdom? Measure twice, cut once

regarding their IS200 manifold - forget it. They tried it on my car.

Looks nice and shiny... and that's about all you can say about it.

Don't think it's actually theirs... think it's sourced from a LHD market.

I say that because of how they had to smash it to bits to make it clear the steering.

Once home i had to cover it in gun-gum exhaust putty to stop the leaks :duh:

Then when they'd removed it, i checked over what they'd done.

Bolts i could do up with my fingers, wiring hanging on exhaust...

Good job i checked - lucky not to have had an engine fire

And that's on top of engine bay + jacking point paint damage from the first visit

So they can't even do basic spannering, let alone an engine conversion.

Wouldn't trust them with a pram, specially if it had a baby in it :duh:

No wonder they're listed in my phone as "Nemesis - Yee Haa" :zorro:

Sorry to hear about your bad experience Tony, stuff like that does give our industry a bad name :crybaby:

It's hard enough in this business when you do know what you are doing, so it's hardly surprising when the plethora of people that wake up one morning and decide that they are car tuning specialists, get it wrong and go bust leaving innocent victims to deal with the carnage.
