Park Brake Question

I only have my GS300 a week, but have noticed that you've got to really stand on the park brake peddle to make it engage ...... I mean you've got to really force it in there with a lot of leg force.

I've never had a car with a foot operated park brake before, always the hand brake. Is it normal to have to apply such force to the park brake peddle like that ? Or is it in need of adjustment ?

Me neither - I just sort of bounce my leg on it and it clicks down far enough. When it's in Park, it's not going anywhere anyway...

Yeah you're right. But my drive is on a steep incline and it means there is a constant load on the gearbox if the park brake isn't working properly.

Think I'll take it back to the dealer and have them check it out before too much time elapses ... only bought it last week as I was saying.

If it is not too late your parking brake should hold/engage after 5 or max 6 clicks. I think that's what the Lexus service manual advises.
