I use luke warm

I heard to hot and it takes off the wax.

My wheels take longer than the car (1hr +) so first I also wash and rinse each panel then "chamois" it, but not with a chamois I use a microfibre cloth.

Then start on the wheels

Likewise, luke warm, roof bonnet and boot first, silicone blade water off, MF cloth to dry, and the work downwards a side/end at a time, blade and dry each. I only use waremer water when I'm gonna give the car another coat of P21s, or there are too many dead flies on the front - I soak the front end with car shampers/larther in warmer water for 5 minutes (and keep it wet if it's too hot) - seems to make it easier to get rid of the little mites...

Silicone blade left a lovely scratch on my bonnet! so i tend not to use it any more, must have been some grit on it

Agree with all above, warm water - too hot and it can cause lots of things, burning your hand is only one of them!!!

I've used a silicone blade for a while, but like everyone says, one small piece of grit and it's game over for the paint, so do so with caution. Little tip is to dry the car roughly, then take it a wee drive round the block, with a few harsh stops and accelerating, that should dislodge a lot of water that gets in the wing mirror, door handles, number plates and so on and minimise the, what I like to call 'Oh for pity's sake' moments at the end when just when you think it's dry a nice stream comes from the handle or mirror and you spend the next half an hour walking round the car like a spanner wiping bits off. Leaving doors open also allows water to drain away better.
