Getting Old Oil Filter Off

Recommended Posts

just decided to drop my oil and do a filter change what a pig oil drain was fine but getting my old oil filter off was a nightmare had all the right tools as my mate who use to work for lexus but even he was suprised how tight it was at one point i was hangging off the wrench with my feet clean off the floor think the bloke who put it on last time must have used a wrench to do it up when its says hand tight on it anyway thats my moan over. :shutit:

Interesting; all the IS200 oil filters I've got from Lexus have said something along the lines of "tighten until the gasket contacts the plate and then add another 3/4 turn". This usually works out slightly tighter than hand-tight.
