Auto Tailgate Lift Rx300?

Recommended Posts

Been to look at a 04MY RX300 today and it had auto lift and closure for the tailgate, is this (was) this an option or even standard on the pre 03MY RX300?.....the secondhand 4x4 specialist dealer I saw today didn't even know there was a facelift at 03MY, he insisted it was the same car from '98 on :shutit:

Best regards David

Not yet an owner, but looking hard at the moment!

Can't say for sure on the pre-facelift (1998 - 2003) cars - no experience.

This feature is not found on the base model and Ltd. Edition (IIRC) - but otherwise standard on all other ranges of the RX.

I'm sure someone will be on shortly to clarify :)

That was my point.....the 4x4 "specialist" I visited at the weekend (in Essex) didn't aknowledge the 03MY change at all, insisting all were the same from '98 on

Looks like I have decided upon a pre '03 model now anyway.....absolutely hated the three "baked bean cans" instrument binacle on the newer version and trim wise there is not much difference.....

Best regards David

You absolutely right there.....and one of the reasons I am now looking within the official dealer network for an RX.....comparing prices between main dealer and so called "4x4 specialists" and independants it appears there is little or no difference in actual price, but of course the peace of mind of buying approved used from Lexus makes a huge difference!

In fact I have come to the conclusion that the independants are valueing these cars at a slightly higher market value than official sources....maybe in a misguided belief that buyers are "dazzled" by the Lexus name?

Best regards David
