Is200 Age/mileage For Cambelt Change

Last year I secured a free 50k and 60k service for my IS200 from a main dealer.......during the negotiations I went with this option (or money back) because I thought 60k included cam belt...I even said '60k includes cambelt doesnt it'?

wry smile followed from dealer and sort of agreement that i thought was set in stone..needless to say written agreement states 60k service including parts and labour...i thought i was ok..60k cambelt change..seems reasonable

doubts now creeping in :Ive had a look through the forum and there seems to be a difference of opinion..talk of 100K ..6 years etc

anyone know the score..face off is May 2009 ;)

Originally it was 100k but i believe Lexus shortened it to 6year, 60K so i'm sure someone on here will point you towards the offical documentation to prove it.

I asked the same question while i was at the dealer last week, they said from 40K service, they will check on your cambelt to see if they needs anything done. but normally, from their experience, most IS200 they serviced got them done at 60K.

Ive just had mine done, Lexus said 100k or 6 years on the phone. Got it done for peace of mind has only done 40K but is a 51 plate.

Heres a couple of pics of the belt - pleased I got it done now dont think it would have lasted another 60K!!!

does anybody know a rough price for a 60k service inc cam belt change, from lexus for the is300....just to get a rough price idea before hand, got just under 2k before 60k service.
