New Key Case

Right i need a new Key Case as my other one is not in a good way,

If i buy this wil lit just mean taking the transponder put it in the new one and also getting the key cut to match?

I bought one of these a while ago (from a different seller).

Only thing I found was that the blade is slightly longer than the original key. Surely a locksmith can trim down the key to the orginal length as on the original key? Haven't acutally found anyone willing to cut a Lexus key yet, anyone got any ideas who will cut a Lexus key? I asked Timpsons, they told they can't cut Lexus keys- its a dealer job?

finding someone who can/will cut the key is the challenge! I had looked at getting the switchblade key mentioned on here last week, but cant find anyone in Leeds who will cut it.

I did this with my old lex

But yes u do need 2 measure the blade cos they come in different lengths

I found a local shop that would cut the key, but it took a bit of asking around. Just call a few from your yellow pages...

Its not really a problem!

I got Timpsons (Manchester) to cut my IS key. I think you have to check whether they have a laser key cutting machine as not all Timpsons do. £6.

As for the length, the IS key is 38mm and eBay keys are 40mm. Rather than ask someone to cut 2mm off, any good locksmith would suggest moving the key cut down. My 40mm IS200 key fits perfect just protrudes out somewhat, but it is no problem though.
