:winky: hello Guys/Girls - its been a long while; hope all are well and enjoying there cars.........

i have a question - i need to repleace my rear brake pads and Disc;

my Garage has quoted me £185.00 for 2 wheels; 25.00 for the pads and 130.00 for 2 disc's - what do you think;

i know they are a lot of feds on DIY....but not so good on that sort of thing. would you use Lexus make Disc's or can we use others?

your help would be greatful.

mintex discs and pads from eBay for £90 but u can get other sets for as low as £40 - i would go for the mintex tho.

have you ever replaced drum shoes on a car before??? are you confident and have all the correct tooling? if not confident ask them how much for labour only?

As you say you are not that good then i would buy the parts yourself and then ask a garage to fit it or find a mate who knows what he is doing and get him to do it.

Try GSF or Euros - anything from ATE, Jurid etc. will be fine as these are OE manufacturers. brembo if you're feeling a little flush (and fancy ;) ) otherwise stick to well known named brands and you'll have no problems.
