hi guys bit advice? lexus tell me my cam belt is due to be changed.but the car has only done 36000 from new.i was told its 10years or a110000miles and as the car is on a 02 plate can this be right? many thanks neil

Yes it will want changing,as your car is coming or is 5yrs old :D

in all honesty 6 years or 60,000miles means it is time to get it done.

My word, there is alot of confusion about cambelt changes. My old 2001 GS300 apparently could go on for 10 years or 100,000 miles without a cambelt change and so can my 2004 LS430. My local Lexus dealer seems to think it is 6 years or 60,000 miles on my LS430 and the old GS300 but I sent an email to Lexus and they have confirmed that it is 10 years or 100,000 miles.

I think the best thing is if your unsure, get it changed.

100,000 miles or 10 years is correct. Worth checking the belts condition at 60,000 then every 10,000 miles.

it was revised colin due to premature belt wear. unless u have new infos??
